Heritage Landmarks Journey

This 14-day journey takes you through Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. Start in Negombo, exploring the coastal town before heading to Anuradhapura, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. DAY 01

Arrive in Sri Lanka and transfer to Negombo, a lively coastal town known for its sandy beaches and lively fishing culture. Spend the day at leisure, relaxing at your hotel or exploring the city.

 

DAY 02

Travel to Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s first ancient capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the sacred city by bicycle, visiting iconic landmarks such as the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, Ruwanwelisaya Stupa, and the sprawling ruins of ancient monasteries and palaces.

DAY 03

Cycle through the well-preserved ruins of Polonnaruwa, the medieval capital of Sri Lanka, and admire its stunning stone carvings and ancient reservoirs. In the evening, visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, home to magnificent rock-cut Buddha statues and colourful murals.

 

DAY 04

Begin the day with a climb to Sigiriya Lion’s Rock Fortress, an architectural marvel offering beautiful panoramic views. Later, journey to Kandy and explore its sacred sites, including the Temple of the Tooth Relic, a revered Buddhist pilgrimage site.

 

DAY 05

Venture into the Knuckles Mountain Range, a UNESCO-listed biodiversity hotspot. Trek through lush forests, misty peaks, and remote villages while enjoying the spectacular scenery. Return to Kandy for the night.

 

DAY 06

En route to Nuwara Eliya, stop at the stunning Ramboda Waterfalls and visit a tea factory to learn about Sri Lanka’s world-famous Ceylon tea. Experience traditional tea plucking before continuing to Nuwara Eliya, also known as ‘Little England.’

 

DAY 07

Explore Horton Plains National Park, home to the famous World’s End viewpoint and Baker’s Falls. Hike through its beautiful landscapes and encounter unique flora and fauna.

 

DAY 08

Embark on a scenic train journey from Nanu Oya to Ella, passing through misty hills, tea plantations, and tunnels. Stop to admire the cascading Ravana Waterfalls before heading to Udawalawa.

 

DAY 09

Experience an exhilarating jeep safari in Udawalawa National Park, famous for its large elephant population and diverse wildlife. Later, travel to Sinharaja Rainforest, Sri Lanka’s last remaining tropical rainforest.

 

DAY 10

Explore the Sinharaja Rainforest with a naturalist, trekking through dense foliage teeming with endemic birds, reptiles, and rare plant species in this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

 

DAY 11

Travel to Galle and explore the historic Galle Dutch Fort and Old Town, a UNESCO-listed colonial masterpiece with charming streets, boutique shops, and oceanfront views.

 

DAY 12

Enjoy two days of relaxation by the beach or explore Galle at your own pace. Optional activities include snorkelling, whale watching, or visiting nearby coastal villages.

 

DAY 13

Conclude your Sri Lankan journey and transfer to the airport for your departure, taking home unforgettable memories of your adventure.
